(M15 Benefit Show) Lazy Trail w/ Wow, Okay Cool & No Bells In The Valley
Come out for a night of indie, punk, and weird, all for a good cause. Lazy Trail is joined by Wow, Okay, Cool & No Bells In The Valley with all money collected at the door donated to the MN-15, 15 Minnesotan activists who have been arrested and charged with conspiracy for interfering in ICE operations.
Lazy Trail
Lazy Trail is the new project of songwriter Emma Willer. Named after
the street she grew up on, it marks her return to songwriting since her
stint in the small but renowned indie band, Slumbers, which consisted
of her and her high school best friends from Rochester, NY. She
became a member of Boyscott in 2017, further garnering her place in
the DIY/indie music stratosphere. Throughout the years she's
harnessed her craft-allowing the songs to form and grow, collect
dust, and be made again. Lazy Trail takes you on lush adventures and
offbeat musical excursions, guiding you through hazy daydreams of
succinct simplicity. These trails venture into their own unique terrain
and bluffs of enigmatic views. Sparse thoughts, direct and harrowing,
snap beneath your feet like the twigs on the forest floor. Her voice is a
unique tonal meld of melancholy and longing, instantly recognizable.
Themes of depression, friendship, growing older, and dissipating
relationships all peer out from the shrubbery skirting the trails. There's
the continual stirring of a fruit fly, the dripping of the moon, and the
possibilities of eternal friendship. Throughout it all is a hopefulness
and longing for simpler days.
Wow, Okay, Cool
Wow, Okay, Cool is a New Haven-based musical project featuring Tim Fitzpatrick, Julian Michaels, Dan Barletta, and Ceej Dioguardi. Launched by Fitzpatrick as a solo endeavor in 2021, the lineup expanded in 2023 with local punk scene veterans to build a dynamic live presence. The band's 2021 EP, Disproportionate Responses, blends 2000s post-hardcore, post-punk, and noise rock to tackle themes of late-stage capitalism, mental health, and American imperialism with a meticulous underlying approach.
