Join us on Thanksgiving Eve for sounds by DJ Frank Lo, who is playing a set of classic and underground post-disco records.
In the aftermath of the late 70s backlash against disco music, an underground movement of disco music, which was simultaneously "stripped-down" and featured "radically different sounds, took place on the east coast that "was neither disco and neither R&B.” This scene, known as post-disco, catering to New York’s metropolitan area, was initially led by urban contemporary artists partially in response to the over-commercialization and artistic downfall of disco culture.
